Q-Park are delighted to be able to complete another phase of their EV Charging Point installation with further infrastructure added to a number of recently acquired facilities.

Q-Park has been rolling out a high-profile network of EV charging points across Europe, which includes more than 600 charging stations in the UK and Ireland. With this commitment to the installation of EV charging infrastructure, Q-Park further reinforced its reputation as one of the most forward-thinking sustainable mobility partners in the country. While large-scale projects come with their challenges, Q-Park worked diligently with its installation partners to ensure the deployment of high-quality, state-of-the-art charging infrastructure. They also took care to properly signpost these stations to prevent ICEing, making it easier for EV drivers to locate them within large multi-storey facilities.

Last year Q-Park completed the well-publicised purchase of Park Rite and as part of this they took on operation of a number of parking facilities across Ireland. Q-Park have undertaken significant investment into three of these parking facilities. Works completed included the installation of the recognisable Q-Park branding on the building’s exterior, there has also been improvements made to customer wayfinding internally with clearer signage now fitted in both the vehicle and pedestrian areas. Q-Park have also already installed the futuristic PaSS Automatic Number Plate Recognition system to provide seamless access for both long-term and short-term parkers as well as opening up the parking facility for mobility partners to grant access to their target audiences. This has been done as part of a full refurbishment of the onsite parking management system. The completion of painting in both the pedestrian and vehicle areas including repairs and improvements were made to the parking decks themselves, this gave the car parks a much more modern and fresher feel.

Once all of this had been completed, applications were made to the local electricity grid to acquire more power into the facility so that EV Charging Points could be installed. Customers will now be thrilled to be able to locate somewhere to plug in their electric vehicle at the following parking facilities:

This new EV Charging Infrastructure is in addition to the initial installation phase and now means that Q-Park offer EV Charging Points at nearly all their parking facilities in Ireland.

John Denton, Director of Commercial at Q-Park UK and Ireland commented ‘Our commitment to becoming the preferred Sustainable Mobility Partner by 2030 is more than just a goal - it's a promise. We are proud to be at the forefront of promoting emissions-free travel in Ireland by fully electrifying our parking facilities. We are excited to offer electric vehicle owners access to our safe, secure, and eco-friendly parking spaces.’
